The bill which was proposed by Senator Oluremi Tinubu (Bola Tinubu's wife) will entitle Lagos state to one percent of the Nation's revenue. The bill was rejected in a rowdy session. It was rejected after failing a voice vote called by Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
Pundits are of the opinion that Lagos as a former federal capital territory deserves a special status for the purpose of revenue sharing in order to manage the huge challenges that was inherited from the relocation of the country's capital. But unfortunately, tribalism, hatred and outright jealousy will not allow the law makers take the right decision.

is the nation's hub commercial city and they can do very well without
allocation if only the so called godfathers wish the state well.
