Rivers State Chairman of Nigeria Medical Associatio, Dr. Furo Green has announced that a medical doctor, Dr. Livy Ijamala has died of rat-attack also known as
Lassa Fever. The late doctor who worked with Rivers State Braithwait
Memorial Specialist Hospital died yesterday after contact with patients
infected with Lassa Fever
Dr. Furo Green disclosed that team
form World Health Organistaion (WHO) has visited the hospital for
assessment , adding that the hospital had been decontaminated and that those who had contacts with the late Dr. Ijamala had been placed on observation.
Lassa Fever is a disease caused by rats and is currently spreading slowing in Nigeria but plans are in top gear to eradicate it.
