CURRENT AFFAIRS: Christians React as Kano State Extends Monthly Sanitation Day to Sundays

The Kano State Government on Saturday announced the extension of its monthly environmental sanitation to Sunday. The state Commissioner for Environment, Dr Ali Makoda, disclosed this to journalists on Saturday, shortly after monitoring exercise for the month of June. Makoda said the population of Kano, in addition to the rainy season, made it necessary for the extension to enable people to properly clean their surroundings and drainage.

CAMPUS NEWS: Delta State University Bans Mini-Skirts & Church Fellowship Centres

The authorities of the Delta State University, Abraka in a statement released by the office of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vincent Peretemode stated that the number of fellowships which is said to be over 80 has been reduced to just four. The statement also banned female students from wearing miniskirts within the campus. According to the statement, the four approved religious bodies or fellowships are Catholic, Anglican, Joint Christian Campus Fellowship

CURRENT AFFAIRS: Facebook removes Bukola Saraki’s UK Passport from Sahara Reporters page, threatens to unpublish their fan page

So yesterday, Sahara Reporters published the UK Passport of Senate president Bukola Saraki on their Facebook page, claiming he's not a Nigerian citizen. Well, Facebook has taken down the photo and have threatened to unpublish Sahara Reporter's fan page if they are not careful. 

CRIME NEWS: Famous Nigerian Reggae Artiste Kidnapped after Death of His Elder Brother

Nigerian Reggae artiste, Victor Essiet of the Mandators fame has been kidnapped. Essiet was kidnapped yesterday night in Nsit Ubiom area of Akwa Ibom State while returning to Uyo from his elder brother’s wake keep, who had died last month. Nothing has been heard from his kidnappers so far.
