POLITICS: Resign, emulate British Labour leader, Fayose tells Mu’azu

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has described the resignation of British Labour Party leader, Ed Miliband, and that of Liberal Democrats, Nick Clegg, as a vindication of his call for the resignation of the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu. The duo resigned after their parties woeful performance in the Thursday British general elections.

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday passed Violence against Persons (Prohibition) Bill which seeks to prohibit female circumcision or genital mutilation, forceful ejection from home and harmful widowhood practices. The bill also prohibits abandonment of spouse, children and other dependents without sustenance, battery and harmful traditional practices.The Bill was sponsored by the Leader of the Senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba.

Gov.Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state on Tuesday, promised automatic employment to any newly deployed corps member who marries an indigene of the state. He made the pledge while addressing 2015 NYSC Batch ‘A’ corp members, during their swearing in- ceremony at Magaji Dan Yamusa permanent NYSC Orientation camp in Keffi Local Government Area of the state, Vanguard reports.

President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) has told the governorship candidate of APC in Taraba State, Senator Aisha Alhassan not to allow the outcome of the just concluded election in the state weigh her down. Late Classic FM 97.3 presenter Slyvester Ojigbede popularly known as Sly, who was the host of the ‘Morning Show’ and Saturday morning show ‘Saturday Express’, was buried this afternoon at Ikoyi Cemetary. UK ELECTIONS: Four Nigerians Who Contested in The UK Parliament Win --
