Just less than 3 weeks the Nigeria police embarked on media campaign
in enlightening the public the relevance of police in the society with
the tag 'Police is Your Friend'. The Police is using celebrities like
Korede Bello to re-brand the bad image of the force through radio and TV
jingles but have failed to rebrand policemen in local police stations.
What is the need of public image re-branding when there is heavy rot in
the internal police force.
While celebrities are busy campaigning for the police in the media, policemen in local stations are still getting drunk, collecting bribe from motorist and violating the law. The Police force should to be sanitized from miscreants.
The cases of police brutality is becoming alarming, the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase ought have resigned his position or sacked when the news of a drunk police officer killed twin brothers and himself in Lagos broke out at a time he claims he is re-branding the force.

QUESTION:
Is the failure in the police force an Individual Police officer act?
Or Is it the Failure of the Police IG to sanitize the force?
Should the I.G. resign or sacked for the 'too many crimes' being committed by the police?

planet earth.
If police reform includes sacking IG which populace are clamouring for
now,then IG should bow out honourably or be shown an exit door.
