There are reports that Nollywood actor, Peter Bunor, has passed on today, Friday, May 1, 2015 in Asaba, Delta State. I was very sad when I heard the news yesterday. This man used to be my favourite Nollywood actor. It’s sad he died when I and other Nigerians needed him most. The Ogwashi Uku indigene of Delta State, who had lamented in a report in 2013 that he had been neglected by his colleagues & govt, was said to have passed on several months after he survived a stroke attack.
Bunor's popular son, Peter Jr confirmed the death of his father saying the actor passed on in the early hours of Friday.
A veteran actor with features in popular soaps that include rooster Crow at Dawn, Memorial Hospital, Checkmate, Sound of Destiny, Second Chance, Third Eye and several movies which include Living In Bondage
I wonder why Nigeria government ignore ailing living legends. Instead they spend millions to bribe the healthy ones for their selfish electioneering campaigns. The actors Guide of Nigeria headed by Ibinabo Febresima is not also helping matters as she is only seem during burial ceremonies of diseased colleagues with lots of excuses as to why the said disease did not receive the attention. We all know that the present government gave Nollywood industry billions of Naira. This money is supposed to take care of human and other capital needs of the industry. Instead of judicial use of this fund, they pocket it.
