POLITICS: Lagos State PDP Governorship Candidate JIMI AGBAJE Promises to Reduce The Cost of Lands If Elected
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, on Wednesday promised to reduce the cost of land in Lagos to address the problem of accommodation in the state. Agbaje said his administration would also implement a low-cost housing scheme that would be affordable to low-income earners. Speaking during a town hall meeting in the Ifako- Ijaiye Local Government Area, Agbaje said the Lagos State Government had continually paid lip service to the plight of the masses in the state in the area of housing, noting that 25,000 housing units built by the APC-led government in
the last 16 years were inadequate.
The PDP candidate noted that the high cost of land in the state and the bureaucracies of obtaining a permit from the state government had compounded the housing challenge.
He said, “We understand how building low-cost houses can be done in Lagos. The first thing we will do is to reduce the cost of land because our records show that the elite have taken all the land for themselves.
“When we reduce the cost of land, this will reduce the cost of buildings. We will also make approvals easier for individuals who wish to build because the delay also affect the finished cost, especially for those who obtained loan to build.”
Agbaje, who claimed to have a unique formula to address the challenge, urged the people to vote for him.
“I disagree with the excuses given by the Lagos State Government that it is not easy to build for low-income earners in the state. A former governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande did it and I will do it if elected,” he said.

I don't think these people read these their so called agenda b4 they come out to puke rubbish, what do they take people for? Will there be enough lands to build? What about those who can't afford to build, or what is he doing concerning the crazy increase affecting house rents and thieves who call themselves estate agent in Lagos? What I would advice oga Agbaje is, he delegates his people to do visibility studies, find a way to talk to people so he can re-plan. If not bros, Lagos is not sure for PDP ooo!

@Jesse: let me give you the BREAKDOWN. PDP has not won Governorship election in Lagos State since 1999 (Democracy came to stay in Nigeria). Bola Tinubu was elected governor of Lagos via ALLIANCE FOR DEMOCRACRY AD in 1999 and was re-elected in 2003. In 2007 FASHOLA became the governor under ACN and was re-elected in 2011. PDP really want to break that "CURSE" in Lagos , Though they won in other South West States
@jOSHUA: if you vow not to vote, also prepare not to complain if our leaders are doing wrong or have a SAY in the polity because voting gives you the right to TALK BACK and air your views concerning how our nation should be governed
Oh now I get your train of thought. It would joy to PDP but sorrow for the people. Having been to Edo, Delta, I can tell you PDP has nothing to offer to Lagosians. Their style of ruling isn't good enough. As far as you can satisfy the big wigs of the party then you're free to do whatever. That's not what Lagos needs.

@jesse: well, hmmm. though we have some people of questionable characters in PDP especially in the South West, i don't want to mention his name but i know you know him. HE is the one choosing who will be and who will not be in SW especially in Lagos. remember the drama that happened between OBANIKORO and AGBAJE? But a State like my State "RIVERS STATE" is a PDP sTATE even if my governor CHIBUIKE AMAECHI claims to be APC. most of his achievements in office were carried out under PDP administration.
so he should credit PDP for that, but i know he won't do that
