JOURNALISM: AIT/Raypower Fm Reporter Amaechi Anakwe Arrested For Calling AIG of Police Joseph Mbu a “Controversial Policeman”


Reports reaching EDESON ONLINE NEWS reveals the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 7 Joseph Mbu has ordered the detention of Amaechi Anakwe, a senior correspondent with the African Independent Television AIT. The Management of AIT released a press statement few minutes. Mbu ordered the detention of the senior correspondent for calling him
‘controversial’ officer on a TV Programme.

@Alaribe. Am sorry for you. Its high time you will be deported back to Liberia where you belong. Mr Mbu is more controversial than the reporter imagined. This is the man that threw aspersion on the global human rights charter on freedom of speech and movement, because he was opportune to occupy that position. Highest, in the next five years, he will vacate that his almighty position.

Hahahahahaha @hyginus, my brother am i from Liberia? Interesting. Pls let us not allow sentiment to overrule our sense of reasoning. That journalist made a mistake by his choise of word. Is true that there should be freedom of speech, but we should not abuse it.
