THE first wife of the Oba of Benin Queen Esther Erediauwa (Nee Osunbor), Eson n'erie. it was gathered that she died at about 8pm on Saturday after a brief illness.
It was reliably gathered that she has been down with diabetes for some time which was said to have deteriorated since last December.
It was observed that people were trooping to their family house at Omoruyi Street off Sakpoba Road, Benin City when the news broke.
It was gathered that the Queen has been seriously ill since December 2013 and has been receiving treatment from medical experts.
There is no official statement yet from the palace as at the time of filing this report.
