Tragedy has hit the Lagos State Government Civil Service, as it lost two of its principal officers to a road mishap over the weekend.
The accident, which occurred at the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, claimed the lives of a couple, Rotimi Olugbuyi and Toyin Olugbuyi, while they were returning to their Ogun State residence after attending a wedding ceremony in Ibadan, Oyo State on Saturday.
The couple, until their death, were staff of the Lagos State Civil Service.
DailyPost gathered that while the husband was a Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Ministry of Information attached to the Lagos State Scholarship Board, the wife was a Public Relations Officer attached to the Lagos State Judicial Service Commission.
According to an eyewitness account, their car, which was driven by Rotimi, had its tyre burst while on motion and skidded off to the other side of the road where a trailer, on a high speed and heading towards Ibadan, rammed into them, crushing the car and the occupants.
Their bodies which were reportedly crushed to pieces, have been taken to the Ogere office of the Federal Road Safety Corps, where their relatives were contacted.
The remains of the couple, who had been married for 13 years without a child, were buried amid tears at their Mowe residence on Sunday in the same
grave.
Colleagues from the Lagos State Government Secretariat, who were present during the burial, described the couple as very nice, loving, caring and dedicated.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, said Toyin was three months pregnant before the unfortunate incident.

- Olubobokun Victor Jide @Nnem One thing about reporting is to present a matchable visual aid. You might not be there when the incident occurred, but you need to present a similar aid to the event. As he can not put someone in a swimming pool to commemorate this. It`s allowed in reporting as long as there is a similarity in the event and the picture Attached.
