THE remains of veteran actor,
Chief Pete Eneh will be laid to rest on Saturday January 26 in his home-town
Ibuzor, Amokwe Udi, Enugu State. Aged 65, the actor died on November 15, 2012
almost three weeks after his leg was amputated following an infection on the
leg. The funeral rites will kick off today with a service of songs also at his
residence Ibuzor.
As part of the obsequies, the
Ibinabo Fiberisima-led Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) held a tribute night for
late veteran actor on Monday January 21 at Ossisatec, Lower Ogui road Junction
in Enugu. Married and blessed with children and grand children, the late
artiste will be best remembered for playing the elder, uncle or king in most
Nollywood films.
The formal inauguration of the
Pete Eneh foundation that will be dedicated to improving the healthcare of
prisoners in all the prisons in Nigeria will follow the interment tomorrow.
Listed as board of trustees of the foundation are Mr. Ted Eneh (UN Peace
Ambassador), Dr. Nera Kadiri Eneh (MWACP, Public Health), Ibinabo Fiberesima
(National President, Actors Guild of Nigeria) and Prof BSC Uzochukwu (FWACP,
Public Health).
