News making the rounds says Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada and his aides were involved in a fatal car accident this afternoon along the bad Abuja - Lokoja expressway. His ADC and driver died instantly while the governor was rushed to the Emergency Ward of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja. He was later moved to the Government House Hospital where he's said to be in a coma.

The governor and his convoy were returning from an official assignment and were close to Lokoja when the accident occurred.

Kogi Hospital Says It Can't Handle Wada's Injuies!

Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, is in a critical condition at the Lokoja Specialist Hospital, Lokoja where he was rushed to after an auto crash.

Although his driver escaped unhurt, the governor’s Aide-de-Camp, ASP Idris Mohammed, died instantly.

The governor was heading from the annual Igala Education Summit which he declared opened at the Kogi State University in Anyigba when his convoy was involved in the crash on Lokoja-Ajaokuta Road.

The State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Bologi Yabagi, confirmed the incident in a statement.

He said the accident occurred at a spot between Prime Polytechnic and Salem University in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.

Sources close to the hospital informed reporters that in order to save the life of the governor, doctors advised that he should be taken to National Hospital, Abuja for urgent treatment.
