Are you in secondary
school? A secondary school leaver? Perhaps you are in the university or you had
just graduated. Well, you need to copy this no matter the class you belong.
Before I instigate I would want to ask this question.
Why do we need to go to
school? I know everybody will say that it to learn how-to read to, write, and
acquire some academic skills that can fetch us a brighter future. I would also
want to ask again; what is the essence of running a race when you are on the
wrong track? I would not want you to answer that question now; I just want it to
be boiling in your mind.It is so piteous that so many people are denied of this privilege in life called education and so many people that are educated are educated wrongly. It is very common to hear people saying that they are forced to study a particular course in school by their folks for some reasons. The parents can be Wright in detecting the course their kids would study in school and they can be wrong depending on the prevailing circumstances.
The parents are the one that gave birth to the children, if they are concerned about the academic future of their kids they would want to study the ability of that kid from the stage of a toddler down to adolescence. This can draw a yardstick on the kind of career the child can best be fit into in the future.
You cannot tell me that you are a loving parent and you have not been scrutinizing your children abilities. Whatever subject a child is good at no matter how infinitesimal it might look like; that can be his or her calling in life. You know the funny thing; sometimes the parents might want a child to study law for some reasons best known to them but on the contrary the kid might be a guru in Fine Arts and for the parents they would want the kid to study Law because of its giant portfolio in the society. Let me tell you; it is not just the Course the child studies in school that makes him successful. He can only be successful if he chooses the Wright Course. When a child goes to study a wrong course he might end up not graduating, have a conflicting career pursuit, but the key to success is to know what success is.
The university is a ground where people who are outside wants to come in and the people who are inside want to come out. The university can only be palatable if you are studying the right course. It's a pity that many students still struggles with over 10-Carry-Over in their first semester in school, some fail out and some are ashamed to redirect to a familiar course. All of this are because of wrong choice of course and wrong reasons of going to school.
Do you know that someone can fail out in an Engineering Course and if this same person goes out for an Arts Course like Mass Communication, he can make first class? The problem many people have is that they do not know the essence of going to school. Some people thinks that when they work in Oil companies they will be happier but let me tell you career success is not measured by money but by happiness. So many students thinks that bearing the name 'a doctor', 'lawyer' or 'engineer' in future will make them happy; far from it. Let me tell you, a doctor or an engineer may be earning monthly income of about $1m but he is still not fulfilled and happy about his career. Why? Because he chased a wrong career. Perhaps he may have become better of as a banker or a journalist.
Each one of us have a gift and have what we love doing which is our hobby; this is a good yardstick or step to determine your goal in life. Your hobby no matter how big or small it might sound can be a career, which you have to set a goal to pursue, that's why you need to go to school to know more about this thing you love doing called your hobby.
Loosely speaking, even though your talent is to fry groundnut and you enjoy doing it, then what is stopping you of going to school and learn the professional way of frying this groundnut. Hahaha! I know you may have laughed as I used frying groundnut as an instance. Whatever your calling is and you capitalized on it that will make you successful in life. Many people are not successful because they have deviated from their calling.
In a nutshell; the essence of going to school is to equip and materialized a goal. If you don't have a goal please don't go to school. Permit me to say that. Because the whole essence of going to school is for a Goal. A person without a goal is like a goat. Having a goal is not enough but having the right goal.
