Nigeria's only representative left in this year's CAF champions league, Sunshine stars of Akure have crashed out after losing their second leg tie to Al Ahly of Egypt in Cairo. Ahly were 1-0 winners on the night, marching through 4-3 on aggregate and onto a meeting with North African rivals Esperance next month.. Gedo gave them the lead on 28 minutes, shooting high past Ayodele for his third goal in the two-legged semi final encounter.
The Eqyptians went on to win the game by a single goal and 4-3 on aggregate. Kudos to our boys though. This was their first outing in the CAF champions and the did us proud.
