According to the Special Adviser to Governor Fashola on Education, Mr. Abdul-Fatai Olukoga, only 2.6 million Lagos residents are illiterate. He said a recent survey carried out on the 20,546,999 population in the state revealed that 17,875,889 people are literate while 2,671,110 are illiterate.He said this on Thursday September 6th during this year's celebration of International Literacy Day in Lagos State.
17.8 million Lagos residents are literate? I don't know how they arrived at this, but it sure sounds good to my ears.
