Popular American rapper Beanie Sigel was arrested on Wednesday on drug and gun possession charges, celebrity website TMZ.com reported, days before he was headed to prison for tax evasion. The rapper, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was arrested during a traffic stop during which police found prescription pills, marijuana, a gun and cash in his car, TMZ.com said. Sigel, 38, best known for his collaborations with rapper Jay-Z and R&B artist R. Kelly, was sentenced to prison last month after owing more than $728,000 in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.
4. Veteran HOLLYWOOD Producer, Brian Gerber is DEAD!:
Documentary producer, Brian Gerber was found dead on a mountain highway Northeast of Los Angeles. Brian Gerber worked with Leonardo DiCaprio in his environmental film, ‘The 11th Hour’. According to Coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter, Gerber’s body was found on Wednesday morning near a vehicle that plunged from a mountain highway northeast of Los Angeles. His death is being investigated as a possible suicide says Winter. Gerber was reported missing over the weekend by his family.

Yakubu Adesokan has won the first gold medal for Nigeria in the on-going Paralympic Games in London. The 33 year-old did it in style by breaking the world record in the men's 48 category by lifting 178 kg, which is over three times his body weight.

After beating Mexico by 1-0 yesterday Nigeria has qualified for Semi-finals in the on-going female U-20 Female world cup holding at Japan. Nigeria has won their second successive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup semi-final with a hard-fought 1-0 extra-time victory over a resilient Mexico in Tokyo. Samsung Electronics West Africa, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, the second largest vendor in global printing market, announced the availability of wireless printers, ML-2165W and ML-2160 series, the USB version in the Nigerian market. The ML-2165W printer is a wireless model of the Samsung range of printers which enable users to access and print documents from a mobile device installed with Samsung’s MobilePrint applications. While conventional methods require a 10-step set up procedure on a wireless network, Samsung’s one touch wireless feature (WPS button on the device) enables users to be connected with the printer through an access point/router in just 2 minutes.
10. Uganda Is Now The Most Corrupt Country In East Africa::
Uganda has been ranked the most corrupt country in East Africa. According to the East African Bribery Report 2012 launched by Transparency International yesterday ,30 August 2012 at Imperial Royale hotel, Kampala Uganda registered the highest number of corruption cases and is followed by Tanzania while Kenya is the third corrupt country in East Africa. Burundi is the fourth while Rwanda is the least corrupt country in East Africa. The survey considered bribery experiences recorded on the basis of public service sectors instead of individual institutions.
