FUNKDE Akindele worked in television before switching to cinema, becoming known for her starring role in the family-oriented Nigerian television show I Need to Know. Akindele's qualifications include an OND in Mass Communication from the Ogun State Polytechnic and a law degree from the University of Lagos.
Despite her failed marriage she is still soaring high in her career.

Actress Ngozi Ezeonu’s recent pictures hit the net and it went viral….viral with insinuations about her being ill and not looking nice.

Probably because she has been out of circulation for a while and showed up looking all slim,people are shouting that she is ill.
Reacting to questions concerning her new look, here is what she had to say…

“I am not sick, i have been battling with my weight for ten years and i have finally achieved what i want. i am not sick, it is my choice to loose some weight and i pulled it off. I feel good loosing weight, it takes a lot of discipline”

How did you pull it off?

”I cut off eating a lot of things, i was addicted to coca cola, juice and i cut off all that, i also stopped eating banana altogether, it took a lot of discipline.

I stopped eating too much carbohydrates and i eat more of proteins and a lot of veggies…a lot”

So you are not ill?

”I wonder why they will think i am ill when my skin is glowing and when i feel good..when people are used to see you looking fat and they see all the fat gone,their eyes plays tricks on them”

What is the secret of your glowing skin?

”i didn’t do anything,i don’t even do facials,i don’t even have a cleanser. i just drink lots of water and dont forget i am light skinned”.

The Upper Area Court II, Gombe, has ordered David, a 25-year-old, undergraduate to pay the sum of N80,000 to his fiancée, Binta Williams, as part of claims for the ‘damages’ which he inflicted on her within the two years in which they co-habited as lovers.

Williams had accused David as having “camped and used” her for almost two years in his room, while promising to marry her. The accused, confessed that he impregnated Binta twice and aborted the pregnancies, while promising to marry her, but had pled with her that she would have to wait for him to graduate within three years.

Williams revealed to the court that the accused had harassed her and thrown her belongings away, telling her that the “relationship is over,” and that despite all her efforts to resolve issues, he did not want to see her again. Williams also said that she had reported him to the nearest police station for them to be reconciled.

“He used and dumped me, after sleeping with me for quite long; he said he would marry me, but he didn’t. Now, I am claiming damages of humanity,” Wiliams told the court.

Binta prayed the court to make David pay her the sum of N500,000 for the damages, but the judge, Alhaji Salihu Baffa, advisedly ruled that the accused pay her the above mentioned amount.

Popular Nigerian Rapper Ruggedman has responded to Mode 9 recent emotional outburst that no one cares about his style of music by telling the rap icon to change his style or quit.
Ruggedman was talking on hot fm's breakfast radio show and said “Mode 9 is not the only one that does the non-commercial kind of rap.

Basically if you are an entertainer you can’t do music for yourself that’s why you are an entertainer.
Rugged Man ‘IF People you are made to entertain are not entertained, you should do one of two things…get another job or adapt’ am not saying this to be funny or anything’
If something is not working anymore the least you can do is try and adopt to what’s up’ ‘Even in America at a point it was all Eastside …then Westside, you can’t do anything about it, if you can’t shape up, you shape out’

‘I actually started writing ‘ehen’ song in English but paul play advised me ‘you are in Nigeria, make music for Nigerians, add the local language so people could understand, I put a little comedy to it by bringing in Normoloss.
‘It’s not about how good you are but how smart you are. I have said it ‘i don’t want to be ‘he can rap kinda artist’ but ‘to be a successful artist’. ‘Switching your style doesn’t make you any less of a human cos at the end of the day ‘what you have achieved is what would be asked.

Mode 9 had recently lamented the neglect of his type of non commercial rap saying that He dropped an album ‘alphabetical order’ earlier this year and no one cared.

---Man Sets His Own Mother On Fire In Lagos---

The Police in Lagos, yesterday, said they were on the trail of a man who allegedly burnt his 87-year-old mother to death in their Adekunle Yaba residence in Lagos.

The fleeing assailant, 45-year-old Bamidele Bakare, was alleged to have set the building located on 16, Ishola Street ablaze in the early hours of Monday.

Eye witnesses said before the building was set ablaze, Bamidele evacuated his five children and property from one of the rooms he occupied.

While the building comprising eight rooms was on fire, occupants who were jolted from sleep reportedly scrambled out of their respective apartments for safety.

Two of them who attempted to rescue the octogenarian identified as Folorunsho Bakare who was fast asleep were reportedly prevented by Bamidele, whom they alleged threatened to set them ablaze too if they dared.

Elder brother to the alleged assailant, Mr Olu Bakare, who reportedly rushed down from Jos, the Plateau State capital where he resides, expressed shock that his sibling could send their mother to her grave in such manner.

He told Vanguard : “As if the death of our mother was not enough, my brother buried her charred remains without my consent.”

Bakare said the burnt building was owned by him, adding that things fell apart between him and his younger brother after the latter allegedly stole documents of some of his property located in Jos and Lagos.

Bakare said: “I took him to court and that was the beginning of his rift with me. I believe he set my mother on fire because of that. But what has that got to do with my 87-year-old mother?

“When I heard the news, I took the next available vehicle to Lagos. I reported the matter to the Adekunle Police division, from where the Divisional Crime Officer and Inspector Crime followed me to ascertain the claim.

“I was also asked to get two persons who saw when he was setting the building ablaze. I did and they attested to it.

“They said when they wanted to rescue my mother, Bamidele told them to leave her to die, saying after all, she was his mother and that he was capable of burying her. After setting the building ablaze, he disappeared with his children.”

However, police sources said efforts were on to arrest fleeing Bamidele.
