…ASUU May Call-off Strike Next Week -

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has indicated that it may call off its indefinite strike next week.

The Academic Union indicated after several agreements were reached with the federal government during closed doors meting which resumed today.

Former Super Eagles player Julius Aghahowa's 11 year old daughter, Isabelle Aghahowa has made her acting debut in Nollywood, playing the role of identical twins separated at birth and given to two different mothers in Uche Jombo's new movie 'Unconditional'. Isabelle plays the dual role of Dakore's daughter and Uche Jombo's daughter in the movie.

When I will kick bachelorhood, I will call you and my fans to come and eat and drink. Already, I have purchased the bell, when it’s time, I will ring it.

Why is it taking so long, on a more serious note?

It’s taking so long because I am waiting for you people. Basically, why I am not yet married is that I don’t want to get married because I have all it takes to marry or because I am ripe. I want to get married and feel married so that I will be committed to my wife.”

…Teacher ‘Impersonates’ Fashola’s, Aregbesola’s Wives…

A 53- year-old teacher on Grade Level 10, Asogbon Victoria Abosede, was Thursday, arraigned before Lagos Chief Magistrate’s Court One, sitting in Ikeja, for allegedly impersonating the first lady of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola.

The defendant was said to have sent text messages between June and July to the Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos by falsely presenting herself as first lady of Lagos State and obtained N100, 000 from the chairman.

The defendant who is facing a 10-count charge of impersonation and fraud, preferred against her by the Lagos State government, was docked before Chief Magistrate Eniola Fabamwo.

He said the defendant between June and July 2013, at Local Government Education Authority, in Alimosho Local Government also sent a text message to one Isaac Omoregie, Education Secretary and falsely represented herself as Mrs Fashola.

Mr Babatunde also alleged that the suspect with intent to defraud presented herself to be Mrs Fashola, to obtain redeployment from Local Government Education Authority, Alimosho, to the Lagos State Basic Education Board.

He also claimed that between the same time, the accused sent a text message to one Isaac Omoregie, Education Sectarary Alimosho, Lagos State by falsely presenting herself as being sent by the first lady to obtain three Blackberry phones and N105, 000, from the chairman.

The prosecutor said in June 2013, the defendant falsely represented herself as sister to Mrs Sherifat Aregbeshola, the first lady of Osun State, and gave a false information to one Mrs Gbolahan Khadijat Daudu that Mrs Aregbeshola was involved in a road accident and could not attend the wedding of Daudu’s son and that thieves carted the gifts meant for her away as a result of the accident.

According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is contrary to sections 378 (1), (b), 312 (2) and punishable under sections 312 (3), 96 (a), criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

Counsel to the defendant, Samuel Gbolahan, pleaded with the court to grant her bail in liberal terms, since the crime is a bailable offence.
However, when the 10-count charge was read to the defendant, she pleaded not guilty to the charges.

After listening to both counsel, Magistrate Fabamwo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two responsible sureties in like sum, stating that the sureties should deposit N250, 000 with the registrar.

She adjourned the case till September 2, 2013 for mention.

Man Stabs Wife To Death For Bearing Female Children. -

A 48 years old man(name with held)has allegedly killed his wife for not being able to give birth to a male child.

The deceased, 46, simply identified as Mama Feyi, was heavily pregnant when she was allegedly stabbed to death by the husband during an early morning dispute.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the alleged murderer who hails from Abusoro area in Akure, Ondo State, has since been arrested and is presently being detained at the Ala divisional police station.

Eye witness accounts say the suspect has been having a running battle with his deceased wife for over two years shortly after the woman gave birth to their fourth daughter.

Sources say trouble began a month ago before the brutal murder when the husband complained aloud that his deceased wife is incapable of bearing him a male child and the incident led to a fierce altercation between the couple.

Shocked neighbours expressed disbelief at the death of mama Feyi when one of their next door neighbour, Mr. Isijola, said he was awakened by loud arguments coming from their room very early in the morning.

“I ignored them as it is a norm for them to always argue and have altercations. I decided to ignore them at first but when the noise was getting unbearable, I stepped into their room only to find the lifeless body of the woman on the floor, lying in the pool of her blood. I saw the man holding a knife and he threatened to stab me if I don’t leave.

Isijola continued, “It was when I discovered that he may abscond that I alerted the police who immediately came to arrest him.”

Naratting the incident, daughter of the deceased, Feyisara, said, “It all started on Sunday after my mummy. had cooked rice. She asked me to go and collect money from my father to prepare stew and on getting to him, he started shouting. But he later gave me N500 which my mum refused to collect. They both argued and had a fight. I had to make a distress call to neighbours to settle the dispute”.

Accor ding to the daughter of the deceased, “the quarrel started at about 6am when my mum asked him to give her some money for her ante-natal but he refused. They started figh ting and before we knew it, daddy brought out a knife and stabbed mummy to death.

When i was living in Portharcourt Sanitation days is observed every first Saturdays of the month. The first daughter of masked Afrobeat musician, Abisade Ologunde, popularly known as Lagbaja, Moyosade Ologunde married her longtime beau, Olamide Obilana, at Motherlan in Opebi recently.
Moyosade attended Pennsylvania State University School of Management where she bagged a Masters in business administration and now works as a change management specialist at a US firm.

They are both young and doing very well in the Nigeria music industry. Popular Ghana-based actress Emelia Brobbey has been arrested for stealing a piece of bracelet jewelry while shopping during her vacation in London.

According to information from reliable sources, the talented actress who is unaware of the security camera at the store allegedly stole a bracelet. As she was exiting the store, a beep alerted the people around her.

We learnt the guys on the security camera who have been monitoring her movements came out to ensure her arrest.

Police officials were called in and she was asked to provide her address.

The actress gave the officers the address of her host, fellow actress Gloria Agyeman.

Police immediately raided the home of the ‘thief’ actress’s host, Gloria.

The raid led to the arrest of another actress Eunice Akua Adjeiwaa who had overstayed in the United Kingdom.

She was immediately arrested. Eunice is set to be deported back to Ghana.

Emelia Brobbey who caused the whole mess is expected to leave London yesterday after she was given an immediate departure order from the UK.

OMG this beautiful babe has brought a lot of shame on herself.
