The press statement form the presidency read that President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has accepted the resignation with immediate effect. President Jonathan thanked Prof. Nnaji for his services to the nation under the present administration and wishes him well in his future endeavours. of service .

2.         Musician WILL.I.AM Releases Song From Another PLANET::                                                      A leading member of American music group, Will.i.am became the first musical artist to broadcast music from another planet when his new single "Reach for the Stars" aired from the Mars rover Curiosity yesterday.

NASA issued a news release saying, the broadcast of the song from the Red Planet was part of an educational event to talk with students about some of the findings so far from the mission, including how the broadcast was to take place. And the rapper was on hand for the historic moment. 

3.         OPRAH WIMPHREY Remains RICHEST CELEBRITY:                                                          Her new television network is struggling, but Oprah Winfrey's bank account is doing just fine, according to financial website Forbes.com, which on Monday named the talk show queen as the highest paid celebrity for the fourth straight year. Winfrey has failed to find major success with joint venture partner Discovery Communications on the OWN network, but her ownership in syndicated TV shows such as "Dr. Phil," "Rachael Ray," "The Dr. Oz Show" and other media products enabled her to earn an estimated $165 million between May 2011 and May 2012.

4.         PRINCE HARRY offered a PORN MOVIE ROLE:                                                                      It has been a few days since the scandal which involved naked photos emerging of Prince Harry and now, it seems he has attracted the porn industry. TMZ reported that Prince Harry has been offered $10m to stir in a porn movie. The British Prince has been asked to stir in a movie called The Trouble With Harry based on his romping in Las Vegas last weekend when his naked photos emerged.  According to a source, the 27-year-old was embarrassed by the photos which caused quite a scandal in the royal family. He got a stern telling-off from his father, Prince Charles, as well as the Queen, who reminded him of his responsibilities as a member of the Royal Family.

5.         P-SQUARE and BEZ nominated for  HEADIES  AWARDS:                                                                                                                                               Giant pop singing duo Psquare and soul stirring jaz recording artist Bez is leading the park in another star studded nominees list just revealed for the annual music awards…the Headies.  After a deafening successful music year, they both have approval to gun for six top awards respectively. Psquare released their fifth album last year with heart thumping singles ‘Chop my money’ and ‘Beautiful Onyinye’ knocking everyone into blistering ecstasy before going on to garner remixes from international recording acts Akon and Rick Ross respectively.

6.         Man Caught With Human Skull In Ogun State::                                                                        A middle-aged man identified as  Pastor Michael Oyewole was paraded along his accomplice, Matthew Akiode  for being in possesion of  a human skull allegedly exhumed  in a grave on a land  at Sabo in  Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun state on Tuesday. The pastor,32,who claimed to be a pastor at Ona-Ara mimo Cherubim and Sheraphim at Olomore few kilometres  to the crime scene in Abeokuta was accused of inducing  Akiode of committing the crime.

7.         BARRACK OBAMA Expresses HOPE in NIGERIA:                                                                                                                                               The President of the United States of America, Senator Barrack Obama has declared Nigeria as the world's next economic success story, stressing that the discovery was one of the major reasons why his government is committed to helping the country build strong democratic institutions and as well remove constraints to trade and investment through the African Growth and Opportunity.

8.         TINUBU is now a CHANCELLOR::                                                                                                The governments of Oyo and Osun states, yesterday, appointed former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso. LAUTECH, jointly owned by the two state governments, was established by the old Oyo State in 1988. A statement in Ibadan, by Dr. Festus Adedayo,  Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Media, said the choice of Tinubu, a financial expert, accountant and administrator, was arrived at after extensive deliberations between the governments of the two owner-states.

9.         NINE  COMPANIES To Be Delisted From STOCK EXCHANGE:                                         THE council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has approved the regulatory delisting of nine moribund companies from the daily official list due to their persistent non compliance with post listing requirements. The companies are: Capital Oil Plc, Union Dicon Salt Plc, Lennards Nigeria Plc West Africa Glass Industry Plc, Nigerian Wire Industries Plc, Aluminum Manufacturing Company of Nigeria Plc, Rokana Industries Plc, Hallmark Paper Products Plc , Nigerian Wire Industries Plc and Udeofson Garment Factory Nig Plc. The NSE had earlier suspended trading in the shares of these companies with effect from August 2, 2012. Management of the NSE noted that the delisting of the moribund companies will commence three months from when notice was served to the company.

10.       YENAGOA FIRST TRADE FAIR to COMMENCE:                                                                 No fewer than 1000 exhibitors from within and outside the country are expected to participate in the forthcoming maiden Yenagoa trade fair billed to hold from October  13-27 at the Peace Park in the heart of the capital city.
President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to officially declare open the fair aimed at showcasing the rich cultural and economic potentials of the state to the rest of the country and the international community.

11.          FACEBOOK LIKES increases:                                                                                                 As a part of its initiative to promote its advertising programs, Facebook has just released an infographic that says the social network generates billions of "Likes" and comments each day across the globe.  The graphic was released on Monday on the Facebook Marketing page (via All Facebook), and shares several figures and statistics.  In its statistics, Facebook said the site generates 3.2 billion Likes and comments a day worldwide. Additionally, it boasts 955 million monthly active users, 58 percent of which are said to return to the site daily. Although, as many pointed out in the comment section below Facebook's post yesterday, it is not clear whether or not this figure takes into account the 83 million "fake" accounts that Facebook admitted to earlier this month.
