             1.   Ghana began three days of funeral rites for late president John Atta Mills yesterday, with his body to lie in state ahead of his burial to be attended by foreign dignitaries including Hillary Clinton and Nigeria’s president Goodluck Jonathan. A state funeral service and burial will be held on Friday.

2.            United State’s secretary of State Hillary Clinton  is expected to arrive Nigeria today, for talks with president Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.  However,  AN international human rights group, the Human Rights Watch, on Wednesday, called on the United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, to encourage President Goodluck Jonathan to address the increasingly deadly violence in Northern and Central parts of the country during her proposed visit to Nigeria.

3.         According to scientist, the month of July 2012 was the hottest month in America. The average temperature of United States in the Month of July 2012 was 77.6F (25.3C), hotter than the old record from July 1936, during a period of severe drought known in the US as the Dust Bowl.
 
5.         During the week, two persons  died after two unfinished buildings, where hundreds of people were living illegally, collapsed in the Nigerian capital, Abuja.

6.         News coming out say Leader Of Militants That Attacked Deeper Life Church in Kogi is Reportedly Captured In Edo State. The gang leader of the yet-to-be-identified extremist group that killed about 20 worshipers in a Deeper Life Bible church in Kogi State three days ago has been reportedly captured in Ibilo, Edo State.  The man, Yekini Isah of Obehira in Kogi state, according to the police, was captured at about 4 AM yesterday by well armed crack detectives backed by mobile police squad mobilized from the Kogi Police command that stormed a criminal hideout in Idare Hills area of Okene.

7.         The royal father of Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Robert Eze who was abducted by four gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday regained his freedom after nine days in captivity. Eze, who is the younger brother of billionaire oil magnate, Prince Arthur Eze regained freedom in the early hours of Tuesday and had returned home to his palace in Ukpo.

8.         The contract for design, build, finance and operate of the proposed Second Niger Bridge was, yesterday, approved by the Federal Executive Council. Minister of Works, Mr Mike Onolememen, who addressed State House Correspondents after the meeting, said the contract to cost N325m has a 16-month completion period.

9.       The Government of Osun State has said that it is prepared to take advantage of the Lagos State’s N3.5 billion daily food commodities that exchange hands in markets to be facilitated through free rail transportation. Meanwhile, to open up Osun for investments, Governor of the State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, said that lands would be given out free to investors who are ready to tap into the huge agricultural opportunity in the state.

10.       Hollywood NEWS: Grammy-winning country music singer Randy Travis has been charged with drunk driving and retaliation after a Texas state trooper found him lying naked in a road, authorities said on Wednesday. 53yr-old  Travis, threatened to "shoot and kill" troopers investigating the case while he was being transported to jail.

11.       Oscar-winning director James Cameron said on Wednesday that he will open a joint venture in China to provide 3-D filming technology, the latest move by Hollywood to secure a foothold in the country's booming movie industry.
