EDUCATION: Medical Students To Spend 7 Years In Nigerian Universities

Edeson Online News has learnt from reliable sources that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has developed new Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards for training of doctors in universities with medical programme now extended to seven years duration. We were told that Pro. Julius Okojie, Executive Secretary of NUC made this known at a 3-day workshop for staff of Medical Schools in Nigerian University.

The immediate past National Security adviser will now have to travel abroad to seek medical attention. This was made possible as the Federal High Court, Abuja ordered the Federal Government to release his international passport. Edeson Online News can authoritatively report that mobile telecommunication company MTN has bowed to pressure and agreed to pay $5.2 billion (N1.4 trillion) fine slammed on them by Nigerian Communications Commission for disobeying to de-activate SIM cards that have not been registered as directed.
