Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II has responded to criticisms following his marriage to 18 year old Sa'adatu Barkindo-Musdafa
last week. In a private email sent to select people which has leaked to
many social media platforms, he explained why he decided to marry
Sa'adatu. Read below
"I am sure NC members all have their
views and have kept quiet out of (appropriate) deference to our right to
make our individual choice. Obviously I do not need to explain anything
to anyone in a purely personal matter but a few points are worthy of
note:
Protesters barricaded the National Assembly drumming support
for the embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ike
Ekweremadu. The pro democracy group, Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Youth Movement
,ONYM, led by Mr Uche Nnadi told newsmen that the rally to the National
Assembly was also to protest the use of anti-corruption war by politicians for personal gains.

misused by few political elite to fight their political war.
The much awaited ministerial list is said to be ready and will be
handed over to Senate president Bukola Saraki during the Senate's
resumed plenary session today September 29th. President Buhari is said
to have handed the list to his special adviser on National Assembly
matters, Senator Ita Enang who will then hand over the list to the
senate president. Speculations are rife that names such as
former Rivers State Governor, Mr Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, a former
Charlie Debb, 55, shared these photos and claimed to have spotted
the 'Face of God' on a slab of marble given to him by his late dad. He
said the piece was given to him by his dad who discovered the rare find
at his stone factory in 1970. He said after it was given to him, he put
the slab in storage in a vault in Switzerland, and didn't think much of
it until he went back there last year and saw that it was weighing
heavier than previously and was shocked to see the face of God
The Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi, on Sunday announced the
suspension of October salaries of some top government officials for
lateness during an event. Announcing the decision during School Debate on Government Anti-Corruption
Crusade at the Akanu Ibiam International Conference Center, Abakaliki,
the governor said the latecomers would also forfeit their September

The Ogun State Police Command, Monday, confirmed the
arrest of a blogger, Emmanuel Ojo for accusing the wife of the state
governor, Mrs Olufunsho Amosun of allegedly laundering $300,000 in
London.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi,
who confirmed the arrest on the telephone, said Ojo is being detained at
the command’s headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for questioning.
Vanguard gathered that Ojo was arrested for a story exposing the alleged
quizzing of Ogun State first lady, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, in London for
money laundering.
The World Health Organization has announced that
polio is no longer endemic in Nigeria. This is the first time that
Nigeria has interrupted transmission of wild poliovirus, bringing the
country and the African region closer than ever to being certified
polio-free. The Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), the
public-private partnership leading the effort to eradicate polio, called
this a ‘historic achievement’ in global health. Nigeria has not
reported a case of wild poliovirus since 24 July 2014, and all
laboratory data have confirmed a full 12 months have passed without any
new cases.
