CRIME NEWS: Cameroon bans use of Muslim veil after series of Boko Haram attacks
The governor of
far north region of Cameroon, Midjiyawa Bakari has banned the use of
Burqa, a face covering apparel worn by Muslim women. The Governor said
the ban is as a result of last Sunday's suicide attack carried out by

CURRENT AFFAIRS: Civil servants demand N46, 000 minimum wage
The Association of Senior Civil Servants has demanded a minimum wage of N46,000 for workers. The union’s Secretary-Gener al,
Mr. Bashir Lawal, in Lagos State, on Wednesday, said that the existing
N18, 000 minimum wage could not meet the socio-economic demands of
workers. According to him, a minimum wage of N46,000 demand was arrived
at after the union met with the National Public Service Joint

POLITICS: INEC Registers Democratic People’s Congress (DPC) As New Political Party
The
Independent National Electoral Commission has registered the Democratic
People’s Congress as a political party. In a letter dated July 8, 2015,
with reference number INEC/DEPM/DPC/ 511/11
and signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu, the
commission said the Democratic People’s Congress was registered at its
meeting on Friday June 19, 2015. It further stated that the
party constitution, manifesto, logo, flag and the list of the National
Executive Officers were also approved, adding that the certificate of
registration would be issued in due course.
POLITICS: Buhari Lied: Jonathan Generated the NLNG Funds Used For Bail Out
The Managing
Director of Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG, Ltd, Babs Omotowa has
insisted that the N1.2 trillion bailout fund for States was generated by
the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. Omotowa who made this known in an interview refuted claims by the
presidency claiming the fund was not generated from Jonathan’s
administration.
