POLITICS: Rivers State Governor Nyeso Wike Falls Asleep at a Press Briefing in Port-Harcour
Guess the effect of the inauguration celebrations is still in play. Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, was spotted dozing off at a function organized by the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Port-Hacourt on Monday. The PDP event was attended by top party leaders in the state and also in the country as the Acting Chairman of the Party, Mr Uche Secondus, (second left) was also present.
POLITICS: Governor Fayose Becomes Nervous, Fears Impeachment, Begs Buhari
Tension rose again in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Monday as supporters of the state Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and some Peoples Democratic Party members laid siege to the state House of Assembly in Ado Ekiti . Their action was to prevent the 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers from gaining entry to the assembly to actualise their move to impeach Fayose. While the siege lasted, the national leadership of the PDP and Fayose urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the matter.

POLITICS: Governor Okorocha Sacks IMSU VC, Appoints Son-In-Law
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State Monday relieved the former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie of his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University (IMSU). Awuzie, who only got to know of his sack when his replacement, Prof. Adaobi Obasi, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs came to resume duty, was clearly taken aback by the development.
