As the May 29 inauguration of Nigeria’s President-elect and the Vice President-elect draws closer, pressure is mounting on the White House on who to represent the United States at the event. While the immediate past U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, Johnnie Carson, is asking President Barack Obama to send his deputy, Vice President Joe Biden, to lead the American delegation to the event, a pro-Africa U.S. lobby group in Washington DC and the Christian Association of Nigerian-Americ ans, CANAN are requesting President Obama to attend the event himself.

CRIME/POLITICS: Secret Deal President Jonathan Approved To Save Abacha’s Family From Prosecution.
For allegedly helping their father plunder Nigeria of an estimated $5 billion in the 1990s, Mohammed and Abba Abacha, and other relatives of the late dictator, Sani Abacha, have been rewarded by the Nigerian government. A secret deal between the government and the Abachas, wants the family to return part of the loot, in exchange for perpetual immunity against prosecution.
Luxembourg Prime Minister Marries His Gay Lover
Xavier Bettel, the Prime Minister of Luxembourg (pictured right), married his gay partner, Belgian architect, Gauthier Destenay (left) May 15th at a very private ceremony in Luxembourg.
