SAD NEWS: Veteran Nollywood Actor PETER BURNOR Dies of Stroke After Nigeria Govt Abandoned Him

There are reports that Nollywood actor, Peter Bunor,has passed on today, Friday, May 1, 2015 in Asaba, Delta State. I was very sad when I heard the news yesterday. This man used to be my favourite Nollywood actor. It’s sad he died when I and other Nigerians needed him most. The Ogwashi Uku indigene of Delta State, who had lamented in a report in 2013 that he had been neglected by his colleagues & govt, was said to have passed on several months after he survived a stroke attack.

CULTURE: Federal Govt of Nigeria To Send Yoruba Teachers To Brazil to Teach Them Yoruba Language

The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to deploy teachers to Brazil to teach Yoruba language. Aminu Nabegu, Director Monitoring Evaluation and Research in the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria. Aminu said the two countries are finalising modalties for the programme to be implemented. POLITICS: Dino Melaye, pledges to lead Campaign for National Assembly Members Salary Cut

A Senator-elect from Kogi State, Dino Melaye, has vowed to champion a campaign for salary cut for federal lawmakers when the new National Assembly opens in June. Mr. Melaye, a former member of the House of Representatives, joined many Nigerians to demand a reduction in the salaries of Senator and members of the House of Representatives, saying he will personally champion the cause. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Melaye said lawmakers must sacrifice their comfort and allow a pay cut, to yield money that could be used for developmental projects and proper oversight role.
