The Director, Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, has confirmed that the troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 200 girls and 93 women during a raid on Sambisa Forest in Borno State. However, Olukolade could not however confirm whether the rescued girls were the Chibok girls, who were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in April last year or not. ECONOMIC NEWS: Read a Brief Summary of Forensic Audit Report Of NNPC
The report of forensic audit of NNPC was released to the public yesterday in accordance with President Goodluck Jonathan's directive. Here are some major points as revealed by the report.
1. $ 980 million was over charged as subsidies on Petrol and Kerosene between January 2012 and July 2013.
2. $3.38bn was spent on kerosene subsidy for the review period.
3. A total sum of $ 13, 637, 077, 362 from sale of domestic crude was not remitted.

POLITICS: Kebbi State Assembly Members Impeach Speaker And Deputy Speaker
12 members of Kebbi State House of Assembly on Tuesday during the House sitting presided over by member Abubakar Sabo who served as temporary speaker, impeached the Speaker, Hon. Hassan Shalla. The members have also elected Aminu Musa Habib Jega and Hon. Garba Bena as Speaker and deputy Speaker respectively. The members during their sitting, accused the impeached speaker( Hassan Shalla) of breach of trust and misappropriatin g constituency allowances approved by the governor for the 24 House members.
