President Goodluck
Jonathan has left Abuja, for the World Economic Forum (WEF) in
Davos, Switzerland.
At the forum, the president is expected to lead
efforts aimed at attracting beneficial global participation in this
year’s World Economic Forum (WEF) Africa, which would be hosted by Nigeria in Abuja from May 7 to 9.
Jonathan will be accompanied and supported by key members of the
federal government’s Economic Management Team from the public and
private sectors, as well as the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).
A church founder, identified simply as Pastor Adepoju, has
stabbed a fellow pastor of a branch of The Apostolic Church Nigeria in
Gbongan, Osun State, Pastor Julius Oguntoye, to death.
Our
correspondent gathered that Adepoju, who was formerly a pastor with The
Apostolic Church retired from the church about 10 years ago to establish his own church.
TheLagos State House of
Assembly, yesterday, passed a bill, aimed at banning smoking in public
places in the state.
This came after several months of deliberation
and public engagement, mainly to sensitise and gather residents’
opinions on the bill.
Two robbers on Saturday at Sabo, Yaba have been stoned to death by
residents of the community after they were caught stealing. The two
young men were said to have robbed a
79-year old man and his female guest before they were apprehended.
According to the man, his female guest was in the sitting room where she
slept before the robbers woke her up, slapped her and collected her
phone.
