“My Ex-Husband Wanted to Kill Me”

''I saw death flash before me and I made a decision to save my life, so I left my marriage''

...Actress Chika Ike reveals in an open letter…

This is an open letter from the recently divorced actress, Chika Ike to her fans on how she was battered and abused by her ex-husband in their 5 year marriage...read the letter below:

The past three years has been a very emotional period for me. I focused my energy on work and to build back my self esteem. its been really hard for me to come out straight and talk about this because sometimes I pinch myself to wake up and not believe that I was a victim of domestic violence. I've been through a lot in my life, faced a lot of challenges but this is one topic I've tried so hard to avoid and have been waiting for the right time but I have come to a resolve that there's really no right time because every second of the day, lives are being lost due to domestic violence. I was a victim of domestic violence in my marriage and that was the singular reason I left my marriage, aside other reasons.

Growing up as a girl. I was always known as the sweetest kid on the block, before I got married, I have been through some relationships and for once no man had ever laid a finger on me. The first time it happened in my marriage I didn't understand it because I am not the type of woman a man beats but I guess there are no types. It just happens and no woman deserves it. As a young girl I thought it was love or his way of expressing his emotions, after every beating he pleads , cries and says it won't happen again, once again I thought it was love and made excuses for him. Over the years when it kept happening consistently I started looking for other definitions for it. I started loosing my self pride, self esteem , self worth, and most painfully i lost a pregnancy (Miscarriage) I almost lost my life in the process then I realised how serious and abnormal it really was.

I have heard and read a lot of accusations from ignorant people who don't know my story,I guess that's why they are ignorant. I was 20yrs old and very naïve to the world when I got married .“ They said I married for money“ LOL. I was married to a corporate guy,who had a 9_5 job in a bank, Lives in a rented 2 bedroom apartment at Egbe.. So do the maths! . I married for love. I did a traditional wedding. A white wedding and a court wedding. So that's how much I wanted to be married forever. For five years I hoped, prayed & wished that one day it will all change. But the last straw that broke the carmels back was during a heated argument he threw a glass jug to my face and I dogged it and it shattered on d wall. I saw death flash before me and I made a decision to save my life. I left my marriage.

Am not saying this to draw pity from anyone because we are entitled to our opinions and believes. I am not also saying this to discourage people from falling in love because its a beautiful feeling and I still believe in it. I am saying this to educate, share and talk about my experience as a victim of domestic violence because it is real.

…See the WOMAN with Biggest Natural Afro in the World…

Aevin Dugas a 38-year-old social worker from Louisiana, holds the Guinness Record for the largest natural afro hairstyle in the world, with a circumference measuring an incredible 4 feet 4 inches (1.32 m).

The hairdo has taken over 14 years to grow to its current proportions, and although Aevin is really proud of it, she admits sometimes it can be pretty problematic.

She was inspired 14 years ago by an old photo of her mother sporting an afro and she traded her straight hair for afro which just kept growing and in 2010, she set a new world record for the world’s biggest afro, becoming an inspiration for black women to ditch relaxers and go natural.

Aevin’s hair draws attention wherever she goes, and while most people just ask her if it’s real, some can’t resist touching it to see for themselves.

LADIES, Do you love the hairstyle?
Can you grow such weird hairstyle?

…Academic Activities Ongoing at RIVERS State University of Science and Technology Despite ASUU Strike-..

RIVERS State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) is unfazed by the current nationwide strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over differences with Federal Government.

Prof. Barineme Fakae, Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University who confirmed this however did not explain why the varsity has defied the nationwide strike by public owned universities.

Saturday Vanguard investigations revealed that the school is in full academic activities as the end of session examinations are just a week away.

A Marine Engineering student who spoke on the situation said, “RSUST under its current leadership has never taken ASUU seriously since August 2012 when the branch chapter stopped lecturing over perceived unfair reappointment of Fakae as VC by Governor Amaechi

“You are aware the Governor has since ordered a no-work-no-pay punishment for the striking lecturers as the school engaged replacement lecturers to keep lectures going. As it defied the local chapter so has the authorities defied the current general strike. Everything is running normal here.”

Another student, of Mass Communication Department, said, “My father didn’t believe it at first. My elder brother in UNIPORT has been home in Delta due to the strike for over six weeks and my father thought I was playing pranks not to have returned. He had to call a RSUST lecturer to confirm there is no strike in my school.

According to Don Jazzy, he and brother Jay used to walk from Awodiora through Mba, through Orege to Boundary market to sell akara, agidi, akamu, fried yam and plantain.
And he thanks God more when people hear his 'Back when' stories and don't believe him.

Such is life.

“French Nurse Rents Her Breast Online To Feed Children From Gay Marriages”

A 29-year-old French nurse has created an online advert offering to rent out her breast to feed newborn babies. She describes herself as “a young mother in good health” targeting gay men in particular. Gay men in couples are not able to breastfeed their babies and breastfeeding allows babies to grow in good health, giving them complete nutrition.

The move is timed well, being that gay men are now able to adopt children after France’s gay marriage bill was voted in.
Guys, what do you think?
