It was one of the songs D’banj then under Mo’Hits Records first presented to Kanye West as soon as he (D’banj) first had an audience with the American rap star in June 2011 and not surprisingly Kanye fell in love with the song. Today, about two years later, these two music idols have done a remix of that single.

Hafeez Ayetoro, ace comedian and Nollywood actor, who has become the face of Etisalat for some years now, has switched network from the GSM company he was known with, to telecom giants MTN.
It will be recalled that Hafeez’s face became a part of Etisalat branding for years, but EDESON ONLINE NEWS can authoritatively inform you that the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education lecturer, was given an irresistible amount of money to switch allegiance.

The advert starts with Saka dressed in green traditional attire, only to transform into a bright yellow attire as he leads a music band.

…Saudi Arabia Deports ‘irresistible’ Men Deemed ‘too Handsome’ To Women…

Three men were forcibly removed from an annual culture festival in Saudi Arabia and subsequently sent back to the UAE after it was deemed that women could find them irresistible. The delegates from the UAE were in attendance at the Jenadrivah Heritage & Culture Festival in Riyadh, the Saudi capital when religious police officers stormed the stand and evicted the men because “they are too handsome,” according to the Arabic language newspaper, Elaph.

“A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds they are too handsome and that the Commission [for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices] members feared female visitors could fall for them,” Elaph reported.

Saudi Arabia is a deeply religious and conservative society which forbids women from interacting with unrelated males.

Following the incident, Elaph said the festival’s management took swift action to deport the trio back to Abu Dhabi, capital of the Emirates.

The UAE released an official statement indicating that the religious police were anxious over the unexpected presence of an unnamed female artist in the pavilion.

---President Goodluck Jonathan Wants Solution To Boko-Haram In Three Months-

President Goodluck Jonathan inaugurated the presidential committee on peaceful resolution of security challenges in the northern part of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja.

He mandated it to proffer solutions to the Boko-Haram insurgence in three months, and asked the members to use their wealth of experience in finding lasting solution to menace.Also on Wednesday, the president inaugurated a 17-member committee on proliferation of small arms and light weapons.

`The second committee that I am also inaugurating that has to do with dialogue and peaceful resolution of security challenges in the north is quite critical.

`All Nigerians are expecting this committee to perform magic and we pray that Allah should give you the wisdom to do so.

“Because without peace we cannot develop no matter how committed we are; without peace we cannot progress as a nation.

“The Federal Government is ready to work with you and any other organisation to make sure that these excesses of Boko Haram is brought to an end. So that as a nation we should face issues of development not issues of conflict, issues of peace not issues of disaster.’’

The president said the committee should establish a link and open up dialogue with members of the Boko Haram and also develop a framework for their disarmament.

He said the committee should also work out a sustainable option that would lead to the granting of amnesty to the group.

The president added that the committee should develop a comprehensive support programme for the victims of the excesses of the group.

He said the committee should suggest ways to address the underlining causes of the crisis to ensure that the country did not face similar trend in the future.

A couple serving probation for the 2009 death of their toddler after they turned to prayer instead of a doctor could face new charges now that another son has died.

Herbert and Catherine Schaible belong to a fundamentalist Christian church that believes in faith healing. They lost their 8-month-old son, Brandon, last week after he suffered from diarrhea and breathing problems for at least a week, and stopped eating. Four years ago, another son died from bacterial pneumonia.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that a decision on charges will be made after they get the results of an autopsy.

Catherine Schaible’s attorney, Mythri Jayaraman, cautioned against a rush to judgment, and said the couple are good parents deeply distraught over the loss of another child.

“There are way more questions than answers at this point. We haven’t seen the autopsy report. We don’t know the cause of death of this child,” Jayaraman told The Associated Press. “What we do know is Mr. and Mrs. Schaible are distraught, they are grieving, they are tremendously sad about the loss of their most recent baby.”

A man who answered the phone at a listing for Herbert Schaible declined to comment and hung up.

A jury convicted the Schaibles of involuntary manslaughter in the January 2009 death of their 2-year-old son, Kent. The boy’s symptoms had included coughing, congestion, crankiness and a loss of appetite. His parents said he was eating and drinking until the last day, and they had thought he was getting better.

The Schaibles were sentenced to 10 years’ probation.

At a hearing Monday, a judge told the couple they had violated the terms of their probation, noting the Schaibles had told investigators that they prayed to God to make Brandon well instead of seeking medical attention.

“You did that once, and the consequences were tragic,” Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge Benjamin Lerner said, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Prosecutors on Monday sought to have the couple jailed, but Lerner permitted them to remain free because their seven other children had been placed in foster care.

“He feels they are a danger to their children – not to the community, but to their own children,” Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore, who prosecuted the couple in 2010, said Tuesday.

Herbert Schaible, 44, and his 43-year-old wife grew up in the First Century Gospel Church in northeast Philadelphia and have served as teachers there. The church’s website has a sermon titled “Healing – From God or Medicine?” that quotes Bible verses purportedly forbidding Christians from visiting doctors or taking medicine.

“It is a definite sin to trust in medical help and pills; and it is real faith to trust on the Name of Jesus for healing,” says the message, from last May.

A phone message left with the church on Tuesday was not immediately returned.

The church’s pastor said in 2010 that the couple had never received medical care themselves beyond the help of a lay midwife who attends home births.

The Schaibles did take their children for medical checkups as required by their probation, according to Jayaraman, the defense attorney. Jayaraman said that Brandon was checked by a doctor when he was 10 days old, but she did not know whether the child had seen a doctor since.

“Nobody argues that these aren’t very loving, nurturing parents,” she said Tuesday. “Whether their religion had anything to do with the death of their baby, we don’t know.”

“Is the rate of divorce in Nollywood worse than in other industries? Have you taken a census of what is happening with lawyers, doctors and nurses? You don’t know. Everyone just blames the movie industry because we are the ones in the limelight.

Long surviving marriage is not exceptional in this industry. The thing is that, we are the ones that people know. Sony Irabor and Betty; John Momoh and Shola; and Bayo Oduneye have been married much longer. What of the late Justus and his wife? We have marriages that have stood the test of time just like you will find in other professions.

For me, since you love the person you get married to, both of you should work at it together. See it as your main responsibility once you get married.

Even before you get married, you should ask yourself, am I capable of making this person my total responsibility? That, am I willing to dedicate my time to making this person happy? It is a two way thing; it is not only the woman that is supposed to make the man happy, it is also for the man to make the woman happy. It is the two of you together and when you do that, it will work out well.

But if not, I don`t support emotional hardship just because you want to marry. God forbid bad thing! If it is not working, get out fast. If you don’t know where you are going, you should know where you are coming from.”
