3 UNIPORT students burnt alive for allegedly stealing phones and laptops::


Edeson ONLINE News has authoritatively confirmed that three University of Port Harcourt students named Ugonna, Aladdin and Chidiaka were this morning badly beaten and burnt alive by indegenes of Aluu community for allegedly stealing phones and laptops in an off campus hostel...
Instead of calling the police and getting them arrested, these people put tyres over the heads of these students who were not armed and burnt them. Then they took pictures, filmed it and spread it around. This happened today in Portharcourt.

CRIMINALS: Two EFCC Staff Jailed Over N100, 000 Bribe


Two officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Douglas William and Abba Ishaku, who were arraigned before an Abuja High Court for a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretence, have been sentenced to five years imprisonment without an option of fine. Trouble started for the officers when they allegedly demanded for N100, 000 from Kullima Kachalla, a former Chairman of Bama Local Government in Borno state in 2010, by posing as investigators of the EFCC.

Robert Mugabe Involved in Fatal Accident::


A police motorcyclist in Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s motorcade was involved in a fatal accident yesterday dieing on spot . 
Robert Mugabe’s motorcyclist was clearing the way for Mugabe’s motorcade on Wednesday when he rammed into a moving lorry and his bike caught fire, police said on Thursday. The accident comes after another terrible accident Mugabe was involved in June .Motorcyclists in Mugabe’s motorcade killed two people and injured 15 others in two separate accidents. 
Mugabe’s convoys have become a source of resentment for many ordinary Zimbabweans due to his overstay in power .The 88 year old leader is pushing to be voted for another term.

Nigerian Senate begins constitution amendment


THE Senate has begun the process of amending the 1999 Constitution with the Bill which seeks to reduce the powers of the Federal government scaling the second reading. The change, sought to be effected by the Bill sponsored by Senator Akpor Pius Ewherido, DPP, Delta Central, wants the devolution of more responsibilities from the central government to the states, as the Federal Government had become too strong. In his lead debate, Ewherido, who is the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Marine Transport, said with more powers to the states, there will be harnessing of states comparative advantages in the production of goods and services without impediment to promote growth, efficiency and effectiveness.

Mo Ibrahim Foundation has ,Wednesday, announced a one-off extraordinary award to Archbishop Desmond Tutu, in recognition of his lifelong commitment to speaking truth to power. In a statement,  today, the Foundation said,  ” the Award will be presented personally to Archbishop Tutu later this year in Dakar during the annual Ibrahim Discussion Forum, which focuses this year on youth, a topic close to the Archbishop’s heart. The Award is accompanied by a grant of US$ 1 million.” The Foundation however, said the special award to South African Archbishop, will not affect its Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership, which is awarded
