Chicago's School Teachers Strike Reaches to DAY 3

A strike of Chicago teachers that has closed the nation's third-largest school district will drag into Wednesday after unionized teachers and negotiators for Mayor Rahm Emanuel failed to reach an agreement in the biggest labor dispute in the United States in a year.
Negotiations adjourned late on Tuesday with both sides saying they had made progress but had not secured a deal to get 29,000 teachers and support staff back in inner-city schools.

9, 000 Muslims are expected to go for holy pilgrimage in Mecca and Median come the next month in fulfillment of the fifth pillar of Islam.
The announcement was made by Al-hajji Juma Shiwuyo, the secretary for Hajj (pilgrimage to holy places). He said the pilgrimage will last for a month, “We shall leave for Mecca and Medina on October 10 and re­turn on November 10,” he said.
To qualify for the trip, each Muslim is expected to pay sh10m. The money is supposed to cater for accommodation, travel and other expenses. Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Aloma Muktar, will today, administer oath on 25 legal practitioners recently conferred with the rank of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN, by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee, LPPC.
Among those to be sworn in today are: Mr. Femi Falana, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, Prof. Yemi Akinseye-George and Prof. Clement Dakas.
Deputy Director, Press and Information at the Supreme Court, Mr. Festus Akande, in a statement, said the event will hold at the ceremonial hall of the apex court.
