1.            Nollywood  Actress Ebube Nwagbo produces first movie : The beautiful actress Ebube  is currently on location in Asaba, Delta State, shooting her own movie titled Smile Again.  The movie features Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Jibola Dabo, Ebere Okaro, Adaora Ukoh and many more stars. The movie is a love story about a sad lonely girl who fell in love with an older man who had just a few months to live. The old man who gave her a reason to Smile Again within the short period of time he had left to live. The movie is written by Ebube herself and she plays the lead character. Expect it out before the end of year.

2.            In another development, Nollywood’s highly anticipated movie, Heroes and Zeros is set to hit the cinemas on Friday, August 31, 2012 in a planned grand premiere. The premiere will have A-list actors and actresses, top entertainment personalities and highly placed personalities in attendance.

3.       Comedian Seyi Law shells out N7million on two cars: The popular comedian bought a metallic silver Chrysler worth N4.5m for himself and a blue Honda Element worth N2.5m for his wife. The cars came into the country last week August 8th.

4.       GOOGLE Honours Two Nigerian UNIVERSITIES: On Thursday, Google announced that 2 Nigerian universities; University of Lagos and University of Ibadan have emerged finalists in the 2012 edition of its annual Google Online Marketing Challenge (GOMC). According to Obum Ekeke, Google’s Regional Program Manager forUniversity Programs & Outreach in SSA, the 2 universities were part of the 11,000 students from 86 countries/territories such as theUnited States, Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, South Africa.  he Google Online Marketing Challenge is a global competition thatwas established to help prepare students studying courses such as advertising, e-commerce, integrated marketing communication,management information systems, marketing or new media technologies in the area of online marketing. It gives the students an opportunity to compete on an international stage.

5.         CHRIS OKOTIE Still Angry WITH EX-WIFE: Following an outburst by Stephannie, about why her marriage to the Pastor crashed, Chris Okotie for the first time since their breakup, tongue-lashed his ex-wife,  referring to her as a ‘Jezebel’.According to reports, Pastor Chris openly spoke against Stephannie during sermon on Sunday, August 12. During the sermon, he was said to have been bitter as he related ‘his experience in the hands’ of Stephannie. He verbally attacked her, thereafter comparing her to Jezebel in the Bible. Pastor Chris said he was free to judge her, as he kept saying that ‘he suffered much in her hands’, but failed to say what exactly was her offence.
6.         DESMOND ELLIOT Has Released A New Movie: Handsome Nollywood super star, Desmond Elliot is a guy who has come a long way in the movie industry and no one can question the fact that the tall, dark and handsome dude has done right by himself, not only by appearing in more than 200 movies but also by shaping himself into a veritable brand, establishments knock themselves over to associate with. Though currently, working in Sierra Leone the Glo Ambassador is lighting up cinemas across Africa from this Friday August 17th with his latest movie ‘In The Cupboard’
7.            MADONNA SUED: A group of Russian anti-gay activists sued American pop star Madonna for $10 million on Friday, saying she had insulted their feelings when she spoke out for gay rights at a concert in St Petersburg last week.

8.            THOMAS VERMAELEN IS THE NEW ARSENAL CAPTAIN: The Belgian centre back wore the armband in pre-season and Arsène Wenger has confirmed that he will take on the job permanently after the Club agreed terms to sell Robin van Persie to Manchester United. Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta has succeeded Vermaelen as Arsenal's vice-captain.
9.            FABRICE MUAMBA RETIRES from FOOTBALL: Fabrice Muamba, for those who don't remember or know him, is the Bolton Wanderers midfielder who collapsed during a match ion the 17th of March this year, and his heart then stopped beating for 78 minutes. He spent four weeks in the hospital and doctors said his recovery was a miracle. Five months after the incident, he has been advised to quit football for good.

Chimaroke Nnamani Is not DEAD! He Is Still ALIVE:

Associates of a former governor of Enugu State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, have debunked rumours of his death. There has been anxiety since some blogs posted reports that Nnamani has died.

But his associates, who spoke to NEWSMEN , said Nnamani was in Washington DC, United States recuperating after undergoing a “medical procedure.”

FATHER Drags SON To Court OVER Stolen Motorcycle::

<<Court Ordered That His Son Should Be Given 24 Lashes Of Cane>>

A Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ court has ordered that a 22-year-old man, Raphael Agbendeh, be given 24 lashes of the cane for stealing Motorcycle belonging to his father, Dr Augustine Agbendeh.
The magistrate, Cyril Enyi, said the conviction was based on the criminal record of the accused, whom he said, was a first offender.
He added that since the accused pleaded guilty, and asked for mercy and also promised to be of good conduct in the future, the conviction was appropriate.
The court registrar executed the conviction by administering 24 lashes of the cane on the accused in accordance with the order of the court.
The police prosecutor, Mr James Onwone, had told the court that the father of the accused had reported to the police that his son stole his money and a motorcycle.
